Borgo Abbazia is a fabulous Borgo in the heart of Tuscany. It is located between the Chiana valley and val d’Orcia and is steeped in history. The oldest origins of the property are Etruscan. It became an abbey with the foundation of a church around the year 1,000 and it once belonged to the monks of the Knights Templar. There is a church at the heart of this characterful Borgo, which dates back to 1263 and bears the symbol of the Cross of Malta – symbol of the Knights Templar. Inside there are frescos from the 15th century. It is a consecrated church so is still used for ceremonies. The property can sleeps up to 28 guests in 14 bedrooms and is made up of 12 Rooms, Suites (some are 2 bedroom) and Spa Suites.
Borgo Abbazia is a perfect location for exploring Pienza 14km, the local wine towns of Montepulciano 17km and Montalcino 32km and there are natural spas at 24km.

This suite is located in the 18th century section of the property and is made up of a living room with sofa bed and with kitchen corner, TV, WI FI, coffee machine, fridge. It has a double bedroom with air con, safe and TV, Adjacent to the bedroom is a spacious bathroom with shower. There is a stair to a mezzanine floor where there is a Jacuzzi tub and a futon for relaxing. The suite has an outdoor area for relaxing outdoors.

CHURCH

The church is at the heart of the property and can be sued for wedding and celebrations. The church was built in 1263 and the bell tower dates back to the 18th century. The church features the cross of Malta, a symbol of the Knights Templar and also the symbols of the order of monks who followed them. The church also features 15th century frescoes.
