Villa al Bosco is a fine example of a traditional Lucchese Villa with central steps at the front and rear of the house leading up to the main entrance. If has been carefully restored by it’s owner and provides accommodation of exceptional quality. It has been restored and furnished with great attention to detail and includes hand painted friezes and the furniture has been carefully selected to suit the style of this beautiful house and together with the individual character of each room creates a sophisticated atmosphere, which guests will adore. Villa al Bosco is a spacious house for a large group and is divided over three floors. It is located in the village of Vorno, which is just outside Lucca being only 15 mins by car right into the city centre. Lucca has car parks along the outside of the city walls that are easily accessible on arriving in the city. The city centre is then only a short walk through the many gates into the centre.

GROUND FLOOR

The ground floor has a lovely, fully equipped, country style kitchen with fireplace and a dining room with a large stone fireplace. There is also a laundry room amd bathroom on the ground floor, as well as a small sitting room. The ground floor opens onto the front garden.

FIRST FLOOR

The main front entrance of the house is up a few stone steps into an elegantly furnished sitting room in the centre of the house, which also has access to the rear garden through French doors, down a curved flight of steps to the rear of the house. There is also a downstairs study with a fax, computer and internet access. Off the beautifully furnished sitting room are 3 stunning double bedrooms, all with en suite marble bathrooms with large bathtubs. Each room is styled using a different colour and all beds throughout the house are King size. The bathrooms include roll top baths from England. No expense has been spared in furnishing this beautiful house, which has been restored in great style to its former glory. There are stairs to one side of the house which lead down to the ground floor and also upstairs to the second floor. All 3 guest bedroom  on this floor are centred around a bright and sunny drawing room.

SECOND FLOOR

The second floor has a library and a large luxurious sitting room with home theatre and a central music system. Off the sitting room are a further 3 double bedrooms all individually furnished in different colours. If you are looking for a bit of luxury, this is a perfect house to for you to enjoy the elegant style of a superb example of an Italian Villa.

OUTDOORS

There is a large garden all round the villa and the private pool (12 x 6mts) is set off to the side of the front garden on a terrace set amongst olive trees. There is a pretty pergola covered with beautiful jasmine, where you can dine “al fresco”. The main front garden has mature cypress trees and magnolias and the rear garden is set out in the style of a formal Italian garden. There are views to the front of the house down towards the walled city of Lucca, a labyrinth of lanes and streets that fan out across the city with piazzas hidden at every corner, one larger than the next and there is even a lovely oval piazza tucked away, almost hidden and often stumbled on by surprise. If you get lost in the maze, exit the centre and stroll along the top of the city walls for a different view of this bustling city. Or better still, hire a bike and cycle round for a birds eye view of the town.
