Villa Torricelli is located in the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by iconic olive and cypress trees, just a mere 4 km from the beautiful hill town of Cortona. The villa was originally a watchtower and dates back to the 13th century. It later became a monastery and then finally a private home. The villa enjoys pretty views towards Cortona and over the Chiana valley. Villa Torricelli is a 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom property laid out over 300 sq mts and has a main house laid out over three levels and two adjacent cottages.
It is a short drive into Cortona (4km), which is a lovely hill town with pretty views and a wide variety of bars and restaurants. Being in southern Tuscany, Villa Torricelli is also perfect for visiting Umbria, Lake Trasimeno (the only Lake in Tuscany) with its tiny islands and many towns along the lake. There are also many renowned wine towns such as Montepulciano and Montalcino all within easy reach, not to mention the spa towns of Chianciano Terme (42km) and Bagno Vignoni (62km). The renaissance city of Florence is also easily accessible by train from Camucia/Cortona.
