Villa Marzia was originally an olive mill and for around 160 years was one of the main employers for the local villagers. The building and olive groves were sadly abandoned in the 60's, but in the 1990s the building was restored and more recently has undergone full restoration work to create a unique and stylish home. for the more discerning traveller, making it the perfect place for a luxurious and relaxing holiday.
For guests who enjoy walking there are footpaths through the olive groves and woodlands to the nearby village of Castelvecchio di Compito (10 min walk) and over the hills to Buti (7km walk), a hill village with shops and restaurants. Bientina is a small town just a few minutes drive away, which has full amenities including supermarket, shops, restaurants, banks, weekly market, antiques market (monthly) and in July the town holds a palio (bareback horse race) in the main square.
Villa Marzia is within easy reach of Lucca - 20 mins drive, has easy access to main roads at 10 min drive. Pisa is 30 mins away and Florence is a 45 mins drive. If you prefer leaving the car at home and taking the train, the closest station is a15 min drive.
