Villa Annunciata is a prestigious Tuscan Villa, 35 min from Florence. The villa offers self-catering accommodation in 4 bedrooms (three with kingsize beds and one with two single beds. plus a double sofa bed if needed).There is separately controlled aircon and central heating in each room. There is a sitting room and a large lounge with a 15th Century fireplace and a dining table, which seats 12-14 people. The villa also has a well equipped kitchen and large garden with private pool (16x8). The panoramic villa is located only a short distance from Lucca and other Tuscan cities such as  Pisa, Florence, Montecatini Terme, Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi.

The owners also have another villa called Villa Ronco (sleeps 15+4) with its own private garden and pool near to Villa Annunciata. These villas can be rented together for larger groups.

SLEEPS 8+2

Villa Annunciata is a typical Tuscan villa sleeping 8 guests situated on the slopes of Mount Albano near Monsummano Terme. It is surrounded by 18 acres of forests and olive groves. The villa has been carefully renovated by the owners using original materials and furnished with antiques. The house also has all modern services including air con and wifi internet.

GROUND FLOOR

Large lounge-dining room which seats up to 14 people and has a large 15th century fireplace, sofas and armchairs. There is also a lovely view of the garden and pool area as well as views looking up to the old town of Monsummano Alto. Another sitting room leads to a large Tuscan kitchen with its own fireplace and antique-style oven. On this floor there is a bathroom with an antique basin and floor but with modern design shower etc. There is also a double bedroom which leads to a covered verandah with table and chairs for dining whilst overlooking the pool and hillside towns.

KITCHEN

Going from the entrance into the main part of the house on the left we have the kitchen, a spacious area dominated by an antique fireplace and a beautiful double marble sink, which is decorated with ceramics representing the signs of the Zodiac. The well equipped kitchen has an antique style stove with 6 burners, a hot plate, 2 ovens and an extractor fan. The kitchen also has a side-by-side fridge with icemaker, a double walnut sideboard and an oak Provencal style double sideboard. There is a dining table with eight 17th C chairs. The kitchen leads out onto a southerly facing verandah which faces the valley and the small medieval hill top town of Monsummano Alto. The verandah has a dining table, which can seat 14. Next to the kitchen there is the laundry room with a large washing machine.

CENTRAL SITTING ROOM

The kitchen leads into the main part of the house where there is a large sitting room with armchairs and sofas, one of which can become a double bed. The room is decorated with a number of antique pieces including a pharmacy showcase,  an elm sideboard, Louis XVI walnut chairs and  antique prints and paintings. Two antique stone columns lead through to the magnificent lounge room.

LOUNGE/DINING ROOM

This room has an enormous 16th C fireplace in stone. In front of the fireplace there are 2 large armchairs and 2 large triple sofas. It also has a large dining table with 8 walnut chairs and 2 armchairs covered in velvet. There is a “vin cellaro” used to keep wine and water. It also has a stone basin with running water. There is also a wardrobe with 2 large drawers where crockery and glassware etc are kept. Between the two sections of the room there is an elegant Louis XV walnut table. The room furnishings are completed with a Chinoiserie area with an antique Tibetan sideboard, 2 Chinese lacquered reading chairs and various antique oriental silk paintings. The room has double doors leading into the garden.

GROUND FLOOR BEDROOM

This bedroom is characterized by a 17th C fireplace. There is a mahogany wardrobe and two antique bedside tables. Also worth noting is an unusual freize in walnut above the door depicting an equestrian scene. The ground floor bedroom also has a north facing verandah with a lovely view over the pool especially in the evening when it is illuminated and in the distance the small hill side towns are lit up. It makes a special place to enjoy dinner.

FIRST FLOOR

From the entrance there is a stone staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms. It has a beautiful  17th C wrought iron bannister.

The main bedroom has a king-size brass bed and its own bathroom with Turkish bath/shower and a magnificent view of the valley through the large double window.

A second bedroom which is a little smaller has 2 single beds (which can be put together on request) and a view over the valley, olive groves, woods and the pool. This bedroom shares a bathroom (with a Jacuzzi bath and shower with light and aroma therapy) with a third bedroom, which has two single beds (which can be put together on request).

OUTDOORS

The villa is surrounded by a well maintained garden, which has a panoramic view of the surrounding forests, olive groves and hill side towns. Near the house there is a small wood with a relaxation area with tables and chairs and a view down over the swimming pool. The pool is 16x8 m and has a large hydro massage area for 8 people. It is on a natural terrace a few metres below the level of the villa and has a magnificent view over the valley. It is equipped with teak tables, chairs, umbrellas and loungers. It is open from April to October, weather permitting. Under the pool there is a changing room with 2 showers and a bathroom as well as a gym / fitness area.
