Borgo Vallombrosa is set in a beautiful country location. Just a few minutes’ drive from the property is the historic city of Arezzo, one of Tuscany’s undiscovered jewels. Although not as well known as its nearby neighbours Florence and Siena, Arezzo is rich in history and art, having been home to many famous personalities.
Its favourable position is also one of its best features. In one hour or less, you can reach many of Tuscany’s most important cities and towns, such as Florence, Siena, Cortona, Pienza and Montepulciano.
Immersed in the peace and quiet of nature, Borgo Vallombrosa in Tuscany is a perfect mix of tradition and modernity. The Borgo took over two years to restore and first opened its doors in 2019, thanks to the hard work of many local artisans and craftsmen.
The sleek, contemporary design of the Borgo merges flawlessly with its exposed wood-beams, its arched ceilings and its stunning brickwork. The décor, composed of a variety of custom designed and traditional objects handpicked all over Europe, gives the property a sense of casual elegance and refined mystery.
Borgo Vallombrosa’s philosophy comes to life within its rooms. A seamless combination of simplicity, elegance and modernity where you can feel right at home and experience the profound energy of the monastery. The fourteen rooms and suites are individually designed and enriched with unique pieces of décor.
Several distinctive features make this room stand out. One is the ancient beam that overlooks the room from the middle of the ceiling; the free-standing bathtub, which takes centre stage, is another.
A single piece of furniture functions as both headboard and desk. It faces the room’s two windows, giving guests an optimal view on the olive groves from both the bed and the two stools. Metal vases complement the furniture.
Spacious, bright and luminous Junior Suites with armchairs and sofa (or large extra bed on request): the rooms have a beautiful view of the olive groves or the woods that surround the property.
Every room is decorated differently with design objects, handmade plates, vases, trunks and antiques that give each of them a different flavour.
Very bright and elegant rooms with breath-taking view on the valley, the Chianti hills and the city of Arezzo.
The view can be appreciated from every part of room, even from the shower or from the walk-in closet.
The design of the furniture is smooth and graceful. The simple lines follow the shape and the volume of the room in a show of pure minimalism. Handcrafted objects and antiques adorn these comfortable rooms.
Each Superior room is different from the other, reflecting the originality of this historical building.
The rooms feature handcrafted furniture, open-space wardrobes and carved stone sinks.
Design chairs and armchairs give guests a comfortable spot to admire the view of the olive groves or woods.
With its simple and luminous ambiance, it is perhaps the room that best reflects the way monks used to live.
Three windows let guests enjoy the view of the sprawling valley and of the Chianti hills from every corner of the room.
Handpicked metal vases and lamps complement the wooden furniture.
Charming Standard rooms located in the 17th century Farmhouse, just a few steps from the main building.
The artisan, handmade concrete floor and shower create a nice contrast between the ancient building and its contemporary design.
