Podere Gelsomino - Ginestra

This is a beautiful property and we all enjoyed the region. I took to walking to Sant Appiano most afternoons, about an hour's walk from the apartment. It was a good location and starting point for shopping and wine tasting tours of the region, as well as some amazing restaurants within 10-15 minutes drive. Our favorites were Antica at Sant Appiano, and La Trattoria in Tavarnelle - neither should be missed. We also had a great meal our first evening at Bustecca, a little family restaurant in Barberino.

However, I would recommend that the pictures for Ginestra be changed on the website. First of all, the apartment does not have a fireplace, and secondly, I would absolutely not suggest this apartment for two couples. The 'common area' consists of a space off the upstairs (attic) bedroom with a 2-seater sofa and a flat screen TV with DVD player. If one couple wanted to make use of this area in the evening, it interferred with the privacy and quiet for the couple occupying the attic bedroom.

The attic bedroom/bathroom were adequate but hooks on the walls to hang clothing would be a great plus. It is also unfortunate that the downstairs bathroom cannot be accessed through the bedroom; because they are separate it means the couple occupying that bedroom does not have any privacy to get to the bathroom.

The website does say laundry facilities are available, but does not mention the additional cost to use. All extras (towels, toilet paper, etc) were at additional cost and I would suggest this should be noted on the website so there are no 'surprises'.

All in all, though, I would definitely return to Tuscany and this property, and can absolutely recommend your service to future travellers. Your assistance in choosing this region was invaluable, and your hints/tips were a wonderful resource for us. The owners are wonderful and very warm; the housekeeper Tesi was just great and responded immediately to any of our requests. we were quite relaxed and felt much at home while there.

Many apologies for the photos you are quite right. The photos for Alloro and Ginestra got mixed up somehow, but we have updated the web page and all are now correct. So sorry if it caused any confusion.

All extra charges including laundry are listed on the web page and also on the booking details, so sorry you didn't see that.

All accommodation is self catering and we have some notes on what to expect in our Terms & Conditions as we know that not all nationalities are familiar with this system. So household items like toilet rolls etc need to be shopped for on / after arrival and are not automatically supplied by the owner, although they often include a starter roll in each bathroom.

I will make a note of your comments on the layout for future groups of 4 adults.
