Villa Falco is one of a number of pretty stone farmhouses on a large country estate in the rolling Tuscan countryside near Siena (20 mins). From the farmhouse there are beautiful views over the gentle hills and tiny local hilltop villages that make up this magical landscape. It is within easy reach of the renaissance cities of Florence (just over 1hr) and Arezzo (30 mins). If you are looking for a relaxing holiday amongst pretty scenery then Villa Falco is the perfect choice, and with the estate winery just along the road you can also savour some fine wines - what better way to spend a holiday!

This pretty country estate dates back to the 12th century when it belonged to the powerful Medici family. Steeped in history, it was the site of a castle built in 1134, which once belonged to the state of Florence and was used to protect the Ambra valley. The original castle was destroyed in 1554 by a joint Sienese, French army. The castle, which replaced it in the 18th century, was later converted into the fabulous Villa that stands here today. It is surrounded by rolling, Tuscan countryside dotted with hilltop villages and country farms creating magical picture postcard views, reminiscent of renaissance paintings.

Villa Falco is situated in the Ambra valley within easy reach of Siena (19km), Florence (68km) and Arezzo (38km).
The estate also has a winery producing top quality wines. Winemaking in the family goes back a long way, In fact, as far back as 1245, when Friar Giovanni Carpini was sent to China by the Pope with the gift of a rare Tuscan vine rootstock.

Villa Falco is in the “Leopoldine” style. Only 50 of them exist in the whole of Tuscany. They were commissioned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany – Leopold II. This and a sister farmhouse are located just along the road from the main estate and have fabulous open views over the surrounding countryside.

This pretty stone farmhouse, which has a tower room, sits on its own and has pretty open views over the rolling Tuscan countryside. The furnishings are in traditional Florentine silk fabrics, original paintings and antique pieces make this house unique. The villa is on two floors and has an adjacent cottage

GROUND FLOOR

This is an elegantly furnished villa . The owner has used classic Florentine fabrics in many bedrooms giving an elegant feel to the décor. There is an entrance hall, spacious living room, TV room with satellite TV, kitchen with oven and hob, dishwasher, large fridge and open fireplace. To the rear of the villa is a large elegant dining room with access to the garden and pool through French doors. Also on the ground floor are 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.

FIRST FLOOR

The spacious first floor of the villa has 4 elegant double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with showers.

TOWER ROOM

A pretty tower with 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bath.

COTTAGE

Sleeps 6 (ideal for children) The cottage is on two floors, is simply furnished and has one bathroom. It is ideal as a playroom or additional accommodation for older children. It is not suitable for adult guests.
