Villa Camelia is a fabulous villa and has recently been renovated to provide holiday accommodation for the more discerning guest and can accommodate a group of up to 12 guests. This historic villa once belonged to part of the Bonaparte family (close relations of Napoleon Bonaparte) and in 1701 was gifted to Maria Maddelena Bonaparte as a dowry. In 1805 it was given to the present owners who have restored it with great care and attention.It has been furnished with style and is set in a large garden with a private pool and pretty views over the countryside.

Ground Floor
On the ground floor of this pretty villa there is a central entrance hall, which is open plan and leads on to a large dining room on one side and a lounge area with satellite TV. On the other side there is also another very spacious lounge area with vaulted ceiling and an open fireplace. The whole of the ground floor is very light and airy as there are several large arched doors leading onto the side of the villa The kitchen is to the back of the villa and opens onto a very large terrace over looking the large garden and pool. The kitchen is equipped with 6 gas hobs, 2 ovens, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a bathroom on the ground floor with a toilet and double sink. There is a well equipped laundry room with a washing machine and iron and ironing board and an extra WC.





First Floor
A large central staircase leads up to the first floor, where there is a central hallway and off this there are 6 spacious double bedrooms all with en suite modern bathrooms with showers. All bedrooms have air conditioning and satellite TV.




The swimming pool (14 x 7 mts) is located just below the villa and is set in a private garden with views over the countryside. It can be heated in cool weather and has a hydromassage corner and a pretty fountain effect.


Planning your stay
Villa Camelia is an ideal central base from which to discover the many delights of Tuscany. The pretty hilltop town of San Miniato is just minutes away. The medieval walled town of Lucca is a 40 minute drive away.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa (30 minutes away as is Pisa airport).It is stunningly set in an open lawned piazza which also houses the Cathedral, Baptistery and Campo Santo Cemetery. Just over an hours drive will take you to the little port and town of Lerici overlooked by a cliff top castle from where boats leave every hour to Portovenere and the World Heritage site of the Cinque Terre, five dramatically cliff clinging villages. Renaissance Florence is just an hour away, either by train or car. Siena is an hour and a half away with possible stops on the way to San Gimignano and Monteriggioni , as is Chianti where you can arrange a wine-tasting at one of the many vineyards. For those interested in art and sculpture there are the impressive marble quarries of Carrara as well as the sculpture town of Pietrasanta. Forte dei Marmi is a lively beach stop with some great shopping as you join the masses in the early evening stroll through the town.

Please note that adjacent to the villa is a smaller house awaiting restoration. It is a listed, historic building as this too belonged to the Bonaparte family and as such, cannot be touched. Villa Camelia looks over the garden and pool area and not directly onto the smaller villa.
