villa vista

by Donna
(Alexandria, VA)

The villa was in an ideal location with a wonderful view. It was also nicely appointed. The local village was a block away and had a nice restaurant, cafe and pizza place. Both Fiona and Jim were wonderful and extremely helpful both before and during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. That said, there were a few things that we found lacking at the villa:

1- No dishwashing soap
2- No bath soap (except for a cracker-sized soap bar)
3- Lack of towels
4- No garbage bags
5- Exhorbitant price for heating (3.50 E per hour)
6- Internet connection was not readied in anticipation of our arrival

Considering the very high price we were paying for the villa, these items are just common courtesy...even hotels provide soap and towels. I think guests will appreciate the fact that they don't have to go to the grocery store to buy things that should be provided.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay. We hope to return someday.

Regards,
Donna

Re: your comments
by: Fiona - Rent a Villa in Tuscany

Dear Donna
Thank you for your comments on Villa Vista. Glad you enjoyed your holiday.

Although some properties do include a few basics villas and aparments are rented on a self catering basis and normally don't include household items but I will suggest it to the owner as they are relatively low cost and could be included to make future guest's stay easier.
Towels and linen are included in the rental and in general are changed weekly. However, extra towel changes are normally available on request and charged extra.
Yes, heating is expensive in Italy. Energy costs are high. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. We do list the price of heating so guests are aware of it before their stay, so they can budget accordingly.
Re: internet connection - a valid point. As soon as we found out the configuration wasn't ready for you we made a special trip out to get you connected.
The owner is putting in a fast connection shortly.
Thank for taking the time to put in your comments and hope to see you again in the future.

Best Regards
Fiona
