Villa Sole is a beautiful 17th Century villa estate, situated just a few minutes from the city of Cortona. The villa sleeps up to 20 guests in three buildings - The main Villa (sleeps 10), an adjacent farmhouse (sleeps 8) and a Limonaia (sleeps 2). The villa has been renovated to a very high standard and in addition to all the luxury level services, which you would expect in a villa of this standard also provides a number of lovely touches such as fluffy bathrobes, slippers, the finest Egyptian cotton linens and Italian products in all bathrooms. A welcome hamper of local products is also waiting for all guests on arrival. For younger guests there are Ipod docking stations, cinema room, games room with pool table and board games and an outdoor ping pong table. The villa is fully air conditioned and has WI FI internet. Villa Sole is surrounded by 8 acres of lovely gardens with private pool, jacuzzi and even a lake with ducks! Villa Sole is very close to Cortona where there are a number of top restaurants, however the villa can be rented with a number of catering options, food can even be prepared and delivered to your door. The villa also has its own pizza oven.

Villa Sole is the perfect location for exploring many Tuscan and Umbrian towns and cities such as Arezzo, Montepulciano, Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Florence, Gubbio, Orvieto, Pienza and Lake Trasimeno.

Cortona has become increasingly popular in recent years thanks to the book "Under the Tuscan Sun" by Frances Mayes and the film with the same title based loosely on the book. Before being restored Villa Sole was used as Villa Bramasole in the 1993 film  starring Diane Lane and Raul Bova (there is a glimpse of the villa in the trailer for the film!)

The Villa Sole Estate consists of three main buildings - The Villa, The Farmhouse and The Limonaia. Originally, many centuries ago, the owner and his family lived in the Villa, the Farmhouse was for the farm workers and the animals and the Limonaia was used to store  citrus plants over Winter. Today all three buildings have been restored to a luxury level of accommodation. Depending on the room, there are breathtaking views of Cortona or the valley below and each beautifully furnished room  has bed linen of the finest quality and air con. The bathrooms have hair dryers, bathrobes, slippers and a range of luxurious natural Italian products.

THE VILLA

Sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 king size bedrooms.

Ground floor: has a livingroom, a dining room, fully equipped kitchen, double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (tub with shower attachment), guest bathroom, private balcony overlooking the chapel. 

First floor: has 4 large rooms, three with bathtub and shower and one with shower.  All the rooms have beautiful views, are furnished with antiques and have hand woven fabrics, travertine stone bathrooms and top quality bed linens.

Lower ground floor: has a living room, which opens onto the garden, TV room, games room with pool table, TV with cinema system, private chapel, laundry room, guest bathroom.

THE FARMHOUSE

Sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms (3 king and 1 twin).

Ground floor: Open plan living room with kitchen, office space and reading corner, guest bathroom.

Mezzanine: Double bedroom with en suite bathroom (tub with shower attachment)

First floor: 2 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (tub and separate shower), twin bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower)

THE LIMONAIA

Sleeps 2 guests in a suite with living room, king sized double bedroom, bathroom, private terrace

OUTDOORS

The villa is set in 8 acres of extensive gardens and parkland, which even includes a pond with ducks. There is a large private pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor dining area, BBQ, boules, ping pong table. The house enjoys pretty views over the valley. There are a variety of great areas around the well maintained garden for relaxing and dining "al fresco" and the outdoor hot tub is a perfect spot to drink in the views and enjoy this beautiful Tuscan garden.
