Villa Castell is a historic villa that has been tastefully restored and conserves many originally features whilst providing lovely holiday accommodation. The villa is set on the edge of a quaint, little hamlet with a tiny 1,000 year old church. Villa Castell has very large grounds, which are set out as an olive grove. The location of this property is ideal as it is only a short drive into the local town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and within very easy reach of both San Gimignano (20 mins) and Florence (20 – 25 mins).

GROUND FLOOR

Villa Castell has a large arched door, which opens onto a spacious entrance hall. Off the hall to the left is a dining room, which opens onto the courtyard to one side of the villa. Through from the dining room is a well equipped kitchen with a 6 ring gas hob, oven, double sink and a professional dishwasher. There is a door, which leads from the kitchen out into the courtyard with original Tuscan flagstones and a pretty covered pergola. To the rear of the kitchen there is a pantry and also a twin bedroom with a bathroom with shower. As this bedroom is close to the kitchen it is suitable for staff in the group or 2 children. There is a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
Off the hall to the right is a downstairs toilet and some stairs up to a twin bedroom with a bathroom with bathtub and hand held shower attachment. There is also a stair up to a small study area with a phone, computer, internet, printer and a fax.
There is a door, which leads down into a cellar, which is stocked with local wine and olive oil. Guests can select from the cellar and pay for what they have used.

FIRST FLOOR

Original stone stairs lead up to the first floor off the hall. On the first floor there is a large double lounge area, which runs the whole width of the villa and looks out over both the front and rear of the villa. To the front there is a large arched window plus 2 other windows, making this floor lovely and bright. On the first floor there are 5 bedrooms; 4 double bedrooms (1 can be made a twin) and a single bedroom. All bedrooms have air con and all also have their own bathrooms with showers.

COTTAGE

For larger groups there is an adjacent cottage, which sleeps 8. It is on 2 floors and has a large kitchen/diner, lounge, and 4 bedrooms.  It also has its own small garden. The villa plus cottage sleep up to 21 guests.

OUTDOORS

The villa has an extremely large garden, which is set out as a lovely olive grove. It is fenced and hedged, making it very private. It has a large furnished veranda with sofas and chairs for relaxing outdoors or for enjoying a cocktail. The private pool (15 x 7 mts) is located at a short distance from the villa. At the pool area there is a pergola and a fridge. The villa has a private  tennis court (own equipment needed). There is an outdoor Jacuzzi/hot tub for 4 - 5 people and a unique feature is an outdoor theatre, where the owners host various performances during the Summer.
