This fabulous stone farmhouse hugs the hillside just above Loro Ciuffenna and has stunning views to the Pratomagno hills behind, the hills opposite and the village below.The house, originally a country farm has been lovingly restored by its owners using traditional materials including chestnut beams and terracotta floors throughout. The décor and furnishings reflect the talents of the owner who has combined rich colours, traditional antique pieces and modern touches to create truly stylish interiors that suit the rustic atmosphere of this lovely house perfectly. The house has 2 ground floor apartments. Both are stylishly furnished with high quality furniture.
Podere Il Cercato is a perfect base, for exploring tiny mountain villages nearby or the wonderful renaissance cities of Florence (40 mins), Siena (50 mins) and Arezzo (30 mins) all of which are within easy reach.

Podere Il Cercato is in a lovely country location and yet minutes from the centre of Loro Ciuffenna, which is documented as far back as 1065. Loro was a fortified village at the junction of two rivers, bridged at two points, which led to two gates in the village walls. The village still retains lots of its original character, with tiny lanes and hidden corners to explore. There is a tiny Romanesque bridge over the gorge, where today you can still see the blue toll house that sits at the corner of the tiny stone bridge. From Loro Ciuffenna you can wind up into the mountains behind to discover tiny mountain villages or head down into the valley below to explore the main towns or just sit at the café on the bridge and enjoy some of the best ice-cream in the area.
Podere Il Cercato is a perfect location if you want a country location with stunning views within easy access of shops and bars.

Apartments

This lovely stone farmhouse has been recently restored with great attention to detail. Rich colours are used throughout and the furniture has been selected carefully to suit the rustic character of the farmhouse. Original features include chestnut beams and doors and terracotta floors. There are two pretty apartments, both on the ground floor: Cantina and Orciaia. Each apartment has a garden area with outside seating.

Cantina - sleeps 4
This is the largest apartment and it has a spacious living room / kitchen with hob, oven and fridge. There is a dining table and chairs and a sitting room area with a sofa and armchair. A glass door to the front of the house opens onto a covered pergola with outside seating for "al fresco" dining. To the rear of the house there is one twin bedroom and one double bedroom, which has French doors onto the back garden and patio. Each bedroom has its own pretty bathroom with shower.

Orciaia - sleeps 2
This pretty apartment for two is on the ground floor and has an entrance off the main entrance hall and also from its own garden area to the side of the house. There is a kitchen / dining room with hob, oven, fridge, two armchairs and French doors to the garden. There is one double bedroom in Provençal style and one bathroom with shower. The French door opens onto a garden area and patio with tables and chairs for "al fresco" dining. There are lovely open views to the valley below, the village of Loro Ciuffenna and the hills opposite.

There is a large furnished entrance hall with open fireplace that can be used by guests. If the two ground floor apartments are rented together (sleeps 6+1) it can be used as an extra living space. The two ground floor apartments and the entrance hall make up the whole of the ground floor.

There is a shared pool set on a terrace amongst the olive trees just above the house. There stunning views across the valley and to the Pratomagno hills behind the house that form a fantastic backdrop to the property.
