Group Guided Wine Tasting




Discover Tuscany’s Red and White Wines

Group guided wine tastings takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays in our centre in Palazzo Borghese, via Pandolfini 27, Florence. You will join the wine tasting group following the programme “Bread, wine and language” . The lesson can be conducted in Italian or in your native language. You can have one or more lessons. Here is an example of the information covered in the tasting lesson and the types of red and white wines you can expect to taste as part of the activity.

Red Wines
Introduction to main Tuscan red wines and description of the most widespread vines; the traditional denomination of origin (D.O.C.); the best of the traditional production, Brunello and Nobile; the role of the Cabernet and the new trends; organoleptic analysis of the wines presented during tasting and suggestions for matching with food. Every session is accompanied by traditional canapés, olive paté, tomatoes with garlic and basil, veal carpaccio and mixed Tuscan cheeses.

White Wines
Introduction to the main Tuscan white wines and description of the most widespread vines; Trebbiano as the most traditional of the Tuscan wines; the new trend toward Chardonnay and Sauvignon; Pomino, a wine produced in the mountains near Florence; organoleptic analysis of the wines presented during tasting and suggestions for matching with food. Each session is accompanied by traditional canapés, slices of toasted bread with tomato or garlic, olive oil and mixed Tuscan cheeses.
